Ramayana Dance and Dinner

Itinerary
T&C

A holiday to Prambanan Temple, Yogyakarta is incomplete if you don't watch the Ramayana Ballet. The show that tells the love triangle Rama, Shinta, and Rahwana is a performance that is a pity to miss. Ramayana Ballet at Prambanan Temple is performed in 2 types of stages, namely the outdoor stage, and indoor stage. Ramayana Ballet on the outdoor stage with a backdrop of views of Prambanan Temple really looks very beautiful and elegant.

Ramayana Ballet at Prambanan is a show that combines dance and drama without dialogue, based on the Ramayana story; it’s performed near Prambanan Temple on Java Island, Indonesia. Ramayana Prambanan performs since 1961. Based on an epic Hindu history, the story of model king Rama was adapted to become an important local dance, encompassing the Javanese style, culture, and music. Whilst the story originated in India, the Javanese version is truly representative of the local art and culture.

Ramayana Performance

More than 200 professional dancers and gamelan musicians participated in this Ramayana Ballet which took place on an open stage with Prambanan Temple as a backdrop. Ramayana Ballet is also based on the bas-relief at Shiva Temple, Prambanan. The dancers' movements look very attractive. The scenes exhibited by the dancers did not escape the applause of the tourists who watched the show. Not only the movements that can amaze the audience but also the costumes become other unique sights. The Javanese puppet costumes worn by dancers are certainly no longer strange for local tourists. However, for foreign tourists, costumes like this look very unique and attractive.

Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta is a city where traditional and modern merge into one. On one side there are many city hotels and other high buildings, but on the other side you can feel the magnificent atmosphere of the ancient buildings by visiting Borobudur and Prambanan Temples. The combination between modern and history blends perfectly well and allows tourists to enjoy both.
